January 1855: an expedition is launched against the village of Bokol in the Dimar. The whole village is burnt.
March 1855: expedition against the villages of Marsa and Oundounba. Faidherbe sends the “Garrison of Bakel” there. The village is burnt. There are 12 dead, 25 wounded, 22 stolen oxen as well as goats and donkeys.
March 1855: a lieutenant of Faidherbe, M. Bargone, sends cannon fire and razes the village of Bakel. The determination of M. Bargone will be welcomed by Faidherbe. Only one place in Bakel is spared: the Ndiaybé district because there were some loyal allies of the governor there.

5 April 1855: Faidherbe’s men burn the village of Nayé, in eastern Senegal. More than 200 people perish in the flames. A great religious man of the village is shot on the spot.
14 July 1855: Governor Faidherbe himself shoots villagers and local people near Orndoli in the Damga. Captain Parent, one of Faidherbe’s lieutenants, carries out raids on the outskirts of Bakel and burns down the village of Koungueul.
18 December 1856: the village of Nguik in the Ndiambour is looted and burnt by Faidherbe’s men. The governor himself directs the operations.
19 December 1856: the village of Ouadan and that of Baralé are also burnt by Faidherbe’s men.
March 1858: Faidherbe’s men burn Ouadan again. The village of Keur-Seyni-Diop is also burnt during the “Niomré expedition”. The villages of Tanim and Mbirama were also burnt by soldiers led by one of Faidherbe’s men, Lieutenant Lafont. The chronicles report that smoke could be seen rising above the village of Mbirama in the distance.
May 1859: on the road to fight the Sine, Faidherbe’s men force villages to provide a contingent of volunteers. The Logandème skirmish against Bour Sine Famak is launched on 18 May 1859. It was a bloody confrontation. Faidherbe himself stated that 150 Serers were killed or wounded. He gave the order to burn Fatick and all the surrounding villages. The imposing columns of smoke forced the survivors to take refuge in the neighbouring areas.
March 1860: Faidherbe sends Commander Laprade to Basse-Casamance to punish certain villagers deemed hostile. This is the ‘expedition of Caronne [Karone] and Thionk’. The village of Hilor is completely burnt down. One of the sons of the king of Hilor is killed. The village of Kourba is also burnt.
5 February 1861: in Upper Casamance, the village of Sandiniéri is devastated. Captain Fulcrand destroys the village of Dioudoubou. The village of Niagabar is also burnt.
12 February 1861: The village of Bombadiou is burnt.
November 1860: One of Faidherbe’s men, Mr. Parchappe, leads a violent expedition against the Balantes and destroys the whole village of Kouniara.
March 1861: Faidherbe personally leads an expedition against Cayor. All the villages between Kelle and Mékhé, 25 in number, are burnt. Dozens of people are shot.
4 April 1861: In the village of Keur Ali-Mbengue, 16 men are killed. All the neighbouring villages are looted and burned.
5 April 1861: 1,000 of Faidherbe’s soldiers are sent to destroy all the villages around Guéoul and Mbawor.
30 April 1864: 10 villages around Pout are completely destroyed.
30 December 1863: Faidherbe’s henchman, Lieutenant-Colonel Laprade, spent four days violently punishing villages in the Baol accused of opposing the interests of the colonists.
18 July 1864: Faidherbe’s men destroy all the Bosséyabe villages in Fouta. Nearly forty people are massacred.
